Calling all writers/bloggers here to chip in. There is a little problem that spilled into my work today.
Now I was asked to write a news article about two architects/designers who are getting together for a TV show. That naturally meant a discussion about the two designers themselves. Now one has lost some in a real [...]

If I were to have an epitaph, it would possibly read, Herein lies Suchismita, born 29th Oct 19__, quit smoking on 30th Sept 2009, very nearly died that day, but breathed her last on ___. Yeah, huge big day this for me because come midnight and I lay aside the butt, not quite sure if [...]

Woke up with a headache after last night’s excess beer to some good news. One, the KSA has taken a truly big step forward, and two, I have been invited to a bloggers’ meet here in Goa. You know each time I meet new people, or old friends, they say that they really enjoy my [...]

Durga Pujo to me, unlike last year, this time meant the advent of my friends. It was a given that I was not going to see the Gujarati worship here in Goa, or the extremely ostentatious Bengali association pujo, and yet, now that it is over I feel a tinge of sorrow. But I am [...]

Spent all of yesterday evening drinking by the sea at high tide with friends. There were hot discussions, fanstastic conversation, and again I came back home wondering how much of this I am going to miss in Calcutta next year onwards. The whole thought is depressing, believe me.
Anyway, here is what N asked us yesterday. [...]

I might be talking out of my league here, but the truth is, the MiG 21 aircraft crash the other day had me exasperated. If I am not terribly wrong, this is the third MiG crash this year, and the ninth IAF plane crash. And each time I hear something like this, I wonder why [...]

Patrick Swayze didn’t need to die, you know. Not on a day my laptop refused to work and the sun shines down on my flat in full fury. Not on a day when the experts confirmed that my house has a resident tarantula that we do not seem to find any longer. Not nice.
As for [...]

There arose a nice discussion the other day, about something celebrities are often asked, but never the common man: if you could be in a position to pass one Bill, Act, Law or Amendment, what would it be?
Different opinions arose – anti-corruption laws, differential income tax slabs, economic upliftment of villages. What D proposed caused [...]

There is something in this house that is a new visitor, and that does not like me much.
What else will explain all my cooking getting burnt in the pan? I scrub and scrub and it the burnt on food sticks stubbornly. The maid just gently wipes and the burns miraculously disappear.
What else will explain why [...]

Read this report about how Vikram Bhatt says he is all for adultery. If you remember him, he’s this apology of a film director who gave us movies like Raaz 2, 1920, Madhosh, Aap Mujhe Achhe lagne Lage, Life Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Ankahee – all very forgettable movies, and had a roaring extra marital [...]
